Active Group

Active Group is a privately owned investment company involved in the ownership and operation of funeral homes and crematoriums in Malta and overseas. The Group, through its subsidiary and associated companies, provides various activities relating to funeral and cremation services, international repatriation of the deceased and related logistics.

The Group includes a medical assistance company and a property holding company, development and leasing Group owned properties in Malta and overseas.

Our History

The Active Group was incorporated in 2009 following a restructure of the Camilleri family businesses which included Swansea Enterprises and Camilleri Funeral Directors.

Swansea Enterprises, incorporated in 1986 was involved in car rental, travel and medical assistance services. This business was transferred to new specialised companies named Active Car Rental and Active Assistance Services.

The family’s funeral business, having roots dating back to 1890, kept its original trading name Camilleri Funeral Directors and became part of the Active Group in 2010.

Nowadays the Group is primarily involved in ownership of funeral homes and crematoriums in Malta and overseas, while retaining its original funeral business in Malta.

Our Investments

The Active Group holds material interests and investments in non-related companies operating in diverse sectors, mainly involved in the hospitality industry and real estate.

The Group’s latest endeavour is the development of Malta’s first crematorium and memorial park on land owned by the company located behind the Addolorata cemetery. This project (pending building approval), is hoped to open its doors in 2026 and is projected to meet the needs of our islands to the highest standards, with the lowest possible impact on the environment. read more.
